Our School Counselors facilitate classroom instruction for ALL students using the Second Step curriculum on topics such as:
- Identifying feelings
- Emotion managements
- Self management
- Inclusion skills
- Social skills
- Problem solving
Through these lessons, students build and strengthen healthy and positive relationships, foster a sense of belonging, cultivate a welcoming, inclusive and safe emotional climate in our school, and also support student wellbeing. These lessons help develop social-emotional skills and help meet social-emotional needs of each student at San Marcos Elementary School.
