Birthday Book Club

  • What is it?- The Birthday Book Club allows parents to recognize a child's birthday by donating books to the SME Library. Children are recognized at Flag Salute, the last week of the month, and a book plate is placed in the book.
  • How does it work? - A link will be added at the bottom of the page to our fledgling wish list of titles that we'd love to add to our collection. Once that link is active, you can follow it to find titles and buy them through Amazon for our library. You can also make a tax-deductible cash donation to the library and we'll use that money to buy books that we need. If you'd rather donate a copy of a book, please talk to Mrs. Elam to find out if the book is something we can use in our library. Any books accepted for Birthday Book donation will have a book plate placed in the front of the book with your student's name and the date of the donation.
  • Is there a deadline? - Books need to be donated the Friday BEFORE the Monthly Flag Salute. Bring your donation to Mrs. Elam with the Student's Name, Teacher, and Birth Date.
  • What else do I need to know? - Birthday books are not just for students! Donate one for a grandparent's birthday, or start a tradition for a younger sibling.
